Looking for the PYOP studio secret weapon? The Café Color G range nails that glossy finish without the need for clear glaze. Perfect for making those purely decorative pieces pop!
But still pop on a clear glaze for functional ware – safety first, right? One coat gives a translucent vibe, three coats for full coverage. Easy peasy.

How is this so on an underglaze you wonder? It’s our hybrid Cafe Color Gloss! If the piece is entirely covered in this range, it’s food-safe! Perfect for those bisque painting studios where kids want a gloss finish on those pieces that may or may not be seen again.

BASIC USAGE GUIDE
The Cafe Color Gloss range is specifically designed for PYOP studios, but, that doesn't mean any artist can't experience skipping the clear glaze.

Brush on or dip clear glaze and fire for a food-safe finish. If the entire piece is covered in this range, it's food-safe - hooray!

Layer it up – one, two or three coats for the perfect pop!

Make sure you give each coat time to dry for chef's kiss finish!

No pesky color bleed, so let those colors touch.

Use straight from the bottle and test your skills with a sponge.

Make your own unique shade - all colors are completely intermixable.

Compatible on pieces using the Underglaze and One Stroke ranges. The entire piece must be clear glazed for food-safety.

Finish: Gloss without clear glaze.

All Cafe Color Gloss fire between Cone 06 (999°C) - Cone 04 (1,060°C).
We’re beginner Friendly and here to help (FAQ)
We wouldn’t recommend mixing the colors themselves, but feel free to work with different ranges on the same piece! Just make sure you stick to the same firing temperatures across the ranges.
All Cafe Color G fire between Cone 06 (999°C) – Cone 04 (1,060°C).
The Cafe Color G range fires gloss without clear glaze. Meaning if the entire piece is covered in this range and fired correctly, it is food-safe!
It can also be dipped into clear glaze without firing on the color first (when decorating bisque).
Great for schools and studios where they are short on time to brush each piece with clear glaze.
As these are a hybrid underglaze and fire gloss, we recommend them only for bisque!
If fired between our recommended firing temperature, the color will be the same.
You can take a risk and fire the colors higher. Chances are you’ll see a color! Just know it won’t be the same as the color swatch shown and may not fire glossy.
