PRODUCT USE GUIDE

USAGE

Chrysanthos 3D Thin Trailing Glazes H are a thin line trailing glaze that is suitable for outlining areas or for detailed relief work. The 3D Thin Trailing Glazes must be applied under pressure by using a syringe device with suitable needle attached or by other means as the glaze is quite thick.

Designed to fire in the higher temperature range, the trail created is well defined and will not crack or deform.

The 3D Thin Trailing Glazes is for use on bisque, in conjunction with underglazed decoration, or on top of unfired glaze. The trail can be left unglazed or coated with a thin coat of colored or clear glaze.

APPLICATION

The 3D Thin Trailing Glazes H need to be applied using a syringe or other suitable applicator. A syringe device is supplied with the smaller packaging.

The glaze is quite thick, so it needs to be made mobile by stirring or massaging the bottle. In colder weather, the bottle containing the 3D Thin Trailing Glaze can be immersed in hot water to assist in making the glaze mobile.

Once mobile, there are two ways of loading the syringe. One is to insert the syringe without needle attached into the bottle and drawing the glaze into it or carefully removing the plunger and squeezing glaze into the syringe then reinsert the plunger.

To use the syringe, first remove any air bubbles then attach the needle. To apply a thin line depress the plunger while moving the tip of the syringe along the surface to be decorated.

The glaze is quite stiff, so steady pressure on the plunger and steady movement are required to create beautiful contiguous lines.

Before applying the glaze to ceramicware, it is a good idea to test the flow on a piece of scrap paper.

If glaze appears too thick, it is also possible to add a few drops of water and again massage the bottle to mix properly.

When completed using the syringe, return unused contents to the container bottle and wash the syringe.
