SUPERNOVA GLAZE
Supernova Glaze delivers cosmic-level beauty with crystalline magic that evolves with every firing – crystals will change from a regular firing to a controlled firing.
Use it on flat or vertical surfaces and watch crystals bloom in mesmerising patterns. Sure, it might craze, but that’s just your glaze saying, “I was made for display, not soup.”

It's not your typical crystal glaze, as there are no crystals actually present! All the magic happens during the firing, where they form due to this wild thing called chemistry.
Experiment with different cooling times to watch your crystals form in many different shapes and forms. No firing is ever the same!
BASIC USAGE GUIDE
The Supernova Glaze is especially good at running, so we recommend leaving a 3cm gap between the bottom of your piece and the glaze to protect your kiln shelves. You can even paint white Underglaze or One Stroke in the gap to minimize the run.

All Supernova Glaze fire between Cone 4 (1,186°C) to Cone 8 (1,263°C).
We’re beginner Friendly and here to help (FAQ)
We wouldn’t recommend mixing the colors themselves, but feel free to work with different ranges on the same piece! Just make sure you stick to the same firing temperatures across the ranges.
Also be aware that some glazes can run during the firing process (especially this range!). So test, test, test.
We wouldn’t recommend using them on functional pieces, and if you do..only on the outside of them!
They tend to craze as the crystals form, which should make you think their better suit for a vase than a mug.
OK! So we have told you three to four coats, now lets get into the details.
- Firstly, make sure these coats are not too thick.
- Apply the first coat to the full length of the piece leaving about a 3cm gap above the base.
- Apply the second coat about 3/4 down the piece.
- Apply the following coats just before they meet the end of the previous coat.
This glaze loves a good run, so if you have a vertical piece, expect it even more!
Leaving a 3cm gap at the base of the piece should give you a enough room to save your kiln shelf.
If you own your own kiln (lucky you!), then we assume you have control of your firing schedule.
