Underglaze in so many ways.

Five liquid ranges, plus our awesome chalk and pencil options.

The power of one. Just pure, solid colour, no tricks or pooling effects here. Like your glaze straightforward and classy, this one is for you. Keep it sleek on low, mid, or high fire pieces.

The ultimate wildcard. With these glazes, every piece is one of a kind.  Throw in some crevices, experiment with firing temps, and watch your art do its thing.

The show stopper. Glorious crystals bringing in the wow factor! Available in low and mid-fire, these beauties can craze like nobody’s business, so maybe don’t serve up dinner on them. But as eye candy? Next level.

For work that pops (literally). These glazes create a raised, textured effect that doesn’t flatten out in the firing. Great for linework, sponging, or even a little palette knife action. Works wonders at low or mid-fire.

Color treat, without the heat. These bad boys don’t go near a kiln – just like regular acrylic paint, but made for bisque. Perfect for kids’ programs and bisque art parties; just paint and go, no firing required.

Lock it in, for the win. The final seal! Work so good you want to eat off it? Food-safe option is for you. Just like your stuff shiny? We’ve got your back at low, mid, or high-fire.

Keep the studio stocked. For high-volume glaze fiends who want to minimise waste. Buy in bulk and mix as you need. Awesome way to get a little more bang for your buck.

Why do I need an Underglaze Pencil? Inspire me!

The Underglaze Pencil has so many functions and we have named our favorite.

  • Hand signing the bottom of your pieces.
  • Studio use for telling students artwork apart.
  • To achieve a “sketch look”.
  • Creating a watercolor effect by using a wet brush and dragging the color off the pencil.
  • Using the shavings off the lead with a brush and water for a different finish.
How do I avoid smudging my design when clear glazing?

The easiest way to avoid this is to gently sponge on the first coat of clear glaze before either brushing on the final two coats or dipping in clear glaze.

How do I achieve fine lines?

Make sure the tip is kept super sharp! You can also wet the tip for more solid lines.

Are they safe for my students to use?

They sure are! All our pencils are ASTM D4236 certified.

This is the testing report you should actively look for when purchasing underglaze pencils as there can be dust exposure on use.

Just contact us for our testing report and we will happily provide!

Will Underglaze Pencil colors change after firing?

The higher the firing the more the color will fade. However, most colors hold true to the color swatches at Cone 10.
