Underglaze in so many ways.

Five liquid ranges, plus our awesome chalk and pencil options.

The power of one. Just pure, solid colour, no tricks or pooling effects here. Like your glaze straightforward and classy, this one is for you. Keep it sleek on low, mid, or high fire pieces.

The ultimate wildcard. With these glazes, every piece is one of a kind.  Throw in some crevices, experiment with firing temps, and watch your art do its thing.

The show stopper. Glorious crystals bringing in the wow factor! Available in low and mid-fire, these beauties can craze like nobody’s business, so maybe don’t serve up dinner on them. But as eye candy? Next level.

For work that pops (literally). These glazes create a raised, textured effect that doesn’t flatten out in the firing. Great for linework, sponging, or even a little palette knife action. Works wonders at low or mid-fire.

Color treat, without the heat. These bad boys don’t go near a kiln – just like regular acrylic paint, but made for bisque. Perfect for kids’ programs and bisque art parties; just paint and go, no firing required.

Lock it in, for the win. The final seal! Work so good you want to eat off it? Food-safe option is for you. Just like your stuff shiny? We’ve got your back at low, mid, or high-fire.

Keep the studio stocked. For high-volume glaze fiends who want to minimise waste. Buy in bulk and mix as you need. Awesome way to get a little more bang for your buck.

LOW SHEEN GLAZE

Low sheen, high-class results. This satin/matt glaze forgives the kind of uneven application that happens when you’re on your third coffee.

Let the Low Sheen Glaze do all the work even if you don’t have a steady hand.

Unlike gloss glazes, which sort themselves out during the firing, low-sheen glazes generally do not…except ours! Uneven application is no problem for this range.

We’re beginner Friendly and here to help (FAQ)

Can I mix Low Sheen Glaze with other underglazes and glazes?

We wouldn’t recommend mixing the colors themselves, but feel free to work with different ranges on the same piece! Just make sure you stick to the same firing temperatures across the ranges.

Also be aware that some glazes can run during the firing process! So test, test, test.

Is the Low Sheen Glaze food safe?

It sure is! If you fire it correctly and don’t see any crazing, pinholing or any other unwanted effects.

My piece has crazed! What has caused this?

Crazing can happen for a number of reasons, BUT the number one reason is there is mismatched thermal expansion of the bisque and glaze.

Crazing can happen immediately or over time (the worst!). Other reasons are the glaze is applied too thick or under firing the piece.

Delayed crazing happens when moisture is absorbed by the body causing it to expand.

How about pin holing - Help!

Say goodbye to that piece, BUT read on to understand why this happens.

Pin holing basically is due to the expulsion of gases from the body or glaze due to:

  • Under or over firing.
  • Under firing bisque.
  • Dust specs on the bisque that stop the glaze from adhering to it.
  • Application too thick.
  • Firing the glaze too quickly.
  • Too much recycled clay mixed with fresh clay.
How do I store the Low Sheen Glaze?

Please store these in a cool, dark place with the lid tightly sealed. If you find it has dried out over time, you can add some Brushing Medium to help the glaze flow again and it will be good as new! Just give it a good shake before using it again.
